i-genius Young Singing Stars

“Aashayein….Aashayein ….Aashayein” Enthusiastic lyrics…. Enthusiastic music….This is what I heard the moment I entered ball room of Taj Lands End. And it was mesmerized moment for me to see Salim Merchant singing just few steps away from me. I was so excited that I forgot to take a video of the memorable moment. This was a musical event that I attended on 17th Dec. Blogadda invited us to attend ‘i-genius Young Singing Stars’ Grand Finale powered by Max Life Insurance.

Young Singing Talent: Max Life Insurance and Universal Music India conducted a iGenius Young Singing Stars programme. There were two categories for young talents. i-genius Junior where kids of age 8 – 11 yrs had participated and i-genius Senior – where young children of age 12-15 yrs participated. The whole program was divided into four phases and it started in August 2014. There were one lacs twenty-six thousand entries for this competition, Though there were 10 finalists in the final round, they also appreciated 500 other talented young ones with consolation prize of CD hamper.

combine_images1The program started with enthusiast Mansi Scot and her melodious songs. Then she introduces with other speakers. Mr. Rajesh Sud ( CEO & Managing Director – Max Life Insurance) given a short introduction of their investment in Inidan young talent they started since 2010 through their other programs like i-genius Scholarship and Young Authors Hunt programme. Ms Anisha Motwani(Director and Chief Marketing Officer) and Devraj Sanyal (Managing Director – Universal Music Group and EMI South Asia) spoke about their experience during this talent hunt. We also enjoyed the remake of Max Life Song.

IMG_1388Then the most excited moment came. Music performance Salimji was the golden moment in my life. Shraddha Sharma also gave her music performance. After that the ten finalist were on the stage and it is just unbelievable that we have unlimited talent in India when we talk about music. All contestants were superb. Between two performance rounds by all ten finalists, we also enjoyed Raga Trippin group performance. There was endless musical enjoyment as even Kavita Seth music performance followed by Raga Trippin.

Finally the winners were declared. Shraddhaa Shree won the grand prize of an album contract with Universal Music Group in senior’s category and Shivam Ahuja for junior’s category. Other eight finalists won ‘single song’ contract with Universal Music Group.
