Movies are meant for entertainment. But there are few exceptions to it. Today I attended the special screening of Movie “Talvar”- a murder mystery film. The film is based on true facts and incidents of double murder case in Noida. This murder case was discussed by various channels during the hearing of case and even after that. But those were all reports and discussions. When the same case I saw visually on screen, it made me to think again and again on various aspects of the case.
It’s a great effort of Meghna Gulzar as the director of “Talvar” that it will not just entertaining movie but it will surely make us to think whether justice was done in this case judgement. The cinematography is excellent and the cast was perfect. Irgfan Khan has given his hundred percent to his character as usual and as always expected from him. Tabu did well in her guest appearance. Finest performer Neeraj Kabi played sensible role of father with maturity.
Why you should watch this movie?
- According to me, to find out the biggest tragedy in human history you should watch this movie. Movie has made us to think about the double murder case and also created lot of questions regarding our law system and justice. Police stated that the case is about ‘honor killing’. But they could not prove it. Why it is not questioned in court? Why our initial police investigation is still backward stage, especially in crime cases?
- Why proper action was not taken against policeman who showed carelessness? (As it affected the whole case due to such negligence)
- If narco-analysis, brain-mapping test and lie-detector helps the investigation and justice then why the parents were sentenced to life imprisonment even after they cleared all the tests? And why the other group of suspects identified the second CDI team were not charged when they were found guilty in all these tests?
- Investigation talks about internet usage but why they neglected the mobile phone investigation.

There are few shots where I had to close my eyes, but those were filmed as the demand of murder mystery plot.
Talvar : Final take:
Till interval you don’t get time to think as you are bind with the trilling mystery. After the second half each and every character makes you to think even after you come out of the theatre.
