Many questions rose with the recent tragedy of comedian Robin William’s suicide. Why a person who is icon of comedy, loved all over the world can think of ending his life? Why his dear ones did not notice his feelings, his depression? We have heard of many such tragedies right from the filmmaker /actor Guru Dutt to the young actor Jiah Khan. Is it just related to glamorous world?
If something doesn’t affect us we neglect it. However, you will be never know, when this suicide tendency will hit to someone very close to you.
It is very difficult to find out the symptoms of emotional distress in today’s stressful life. Some people are strong to face the stress of life. However, many may not be strong enough to cope with this stressful life. But that does not mean they do not have the right to live. The most difficult part is, there are no fixed symptoms which will warn you about it. You may not know the person who is smiling is actually has a lot of mental distress within him. But if we give bit attention to their some of unusual behavior, we can certainly help a person who really needs such emotional support.Normally person having suicidal tendency avoid speaking about it with anyone with a fear that he will be treated as crazy. This thoughts force them to hide their emotions. As they do not open up their mind, they further sink into deep depression. As they do not open up with any one they start treating themselves as weak, useless and worthless. When they think they are of no use to others and they are just burden for others , the only option they see is Suicide. They try to escape themselves from all stress with the only option left with them.
• Not able to concentrate
• Being moody
• Being careless about his/her appearance
• Being sad and withdraw himself/herself from social life
• Talk about suicide repeatedly while conversation
• Talk that he / she finds hopeless/ worthless

When one calls iCALL, one can expect complete anonymity and confidentiality and patient, non-judgmental listening from a trained and sensitive counsellor. Their goal is make quality mental health care accessible to one and all from the comfort of one’s home, while maintaining complete anonymity and confidentiality.
